Retirement Plans, Benefits and Savings

What are the Benefits of offering a Retirement Plan? What are the Savings associated with offering a Retirement Plan?

What is ERISA?

ERISA protects the interests of employee benefit plan participants and their beneficiaries. It requires plan sponsors to provide plan information to participants. It establishes standards of conduct for plan managers and other fiduciaries. It establishes enforcement provisions to ensure that plan funds are protected and that qualifying participants receive their benefits, even if a company goes bankrupt.

Voluntary Fiduciary Correction Program

The VFCP is a voluntary enforcement program that encourages the correction of possible violations of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA). The program allows plan officials to identify and fully correct certain prohibited transactions such as purchases, sales and exchanges; improper loans; delinquent participant contributions; and improper plan expenses.
